After 14 years and that same number of projects entitled, developed, and sold with longtime partner Bud Hudgins, Brian founded Maverick Development Group to continue his partnership with The Hudgins Companies and bring forward resources to further strengthen an already thriving team.
His track record includes the acquisition, entitlement, development and sale of more than 7,000 Class “A” apartment units and the brokerage of many multifamily parcels. Brian is also the General Partner for numerous investment entities that deploy venture capital into innovative products that enhance the multifamily amenity landscape or bring new ideas altogether. Brian and wife Miranda currently live in Fort Worth with children Olivia and Bennett.

Alysha Sexton
Operations
If Maverick gave each team member a traditional title there is no doubt that Alysha would be the COO of the company.
Alysha made the move to Maverick in 2021, after 15 years of working with Brian and the rest of the multifamily team at Fort Worth based Hudgins Companies. She is responsible for anything and everything related to the operation of all multifamily development projects. That means she oversees partnership and construction account management, generates and processes construction draws, and takes the lead on projects once construction is complete. She also takes a leadership role in day-to-day company operations, HR functions, IT management and internal company accounting. Alysha, her husband, and their three children enjoy both travel and life at home in Boyd, Texas.
Drew Hammons
Development
Multifamily development requires a good understanding of numerous different disciplines found throughout the different phases of a project, which is where Drew excels.
Coming to Maverick in 2021 after cutting his teeth in the development world with Brian and the rest of the multifamily team at Fort Worth based Hudgins Companies. Drew is responsible for proforma modeling, deal/market analysis and underwriting, as well as sharing the load of design/entitlement/construction and asset disposition. Drew currently resides in Fort Worth.

Amanda Jones
Accounting/Finance
Amanda joined Maverick in 2021 along with the rest of the multifamily team from Fort Worth based Hudgins Companies. She performs all the functions of a traditional CFO and is responsible for accounting and finance on the company level, as well as all multifamily development projects. She focuses on treasury management including cash flow management, budgeting and forecasting, and is a licensed Certified Public Accountant in the state of Texas.
Amanda and her husband Travis live in Flower Mound with their daughters, Dakota and Autumn. The family is actively involved at Christ Freedom Church.

Mallory Stephenson
Administration
Development is a long, stressful and arduous process, so having a team member that ensures day to day operations run smoothly is imperative.
Mallory joined Maverick in 2021, after 3 years of working with Brian and the rest of the multifamily team at Fort Worth based Hudgins Companies. She is responsible for every task imaginable related to the day to day workings of the company itself. In addition to providing support functions for the development, operations and accounting branches of the company, she also performs a number of HR functions, leads our marketing and branding efforts and plans and schedules intraoffice meetings. Most importantly, she is the ‘grease’ to everyone elses ‘squeaky wheel’, and provides comic relief whenever necessary. Mallory currently resides in Saginaw, Texas.
Chase Hammons
Development
Growing up in a construction family provides some distinct advantages. For Chase it allowed him to hit the ground running at Maverick immediately after graduating with a BA in Business Management from the University of Arkansas.
Chase joined the Maverick team in June of 2021 after an internship with Brian and the rest of the team at Hudgins Companies during the summer of 2020. Chase is responsible for a number of aspects of the development process but is most focused on our deals when shovels start moving dirt. He coordinates with our General Contractors prior to and during the construction process, as well as reviewing and approving pay applications. In addition, Chase performs our in-house construction document review and assists during the due diligence and entitlement phases of each project.

Anthony Scott
Development
To say that the development process requires honed multi-tasking and multi-disciplinary skills is an understatement, and that is precisely what Anthony brings
to the team.
Anthony joined Maverick in 2022, after stops in the construction management, lending and property management sides of the multifamily industry. The breadth of experience, and the understanding of the processes involved in multiple facets of the development, Anthony possesses allows Maverick to maintain a continuously active presence on each project in our pipeline. He is responsible for on-site construction management for the entire project duration, as well as serving as the owner/developer liaison between the construction and management teams. Anthony currently resides in Flower Mound, Texas.
